Help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 to ensure no one is left behind.
While much of the world has stopped, our mission of literacy for all will not be placed on pause. Access and inclusion are at the heart of everything we do. Now, more than ever, the individuals and communities we work with are more vulnerable, isolated, and at risk of being “left behind.” We remain committed to finding and using new ways to reach those who need us most, even as social distancing restrictions have caused us to shift the way we operate. We believe that in times of uncertainty, education is one of the most powerful—and empowering—tools we have. But we need your help now.
We are asking for support of our goal of raising $100,000 to help ease the disruption of learning for the children, teens, and adults we work with due to COVID-19. We must ensure that everyone
feels supported and encouraged to continue along his or her academic and learning paths.
Our $100,000 goal will enable us to:
With your help,
- Source and send new, quality books to the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, and distribute them to families.
- Prepare and send home learning kits full of literacy and numeracy activities to First Nation, Métis, and Inuit communities.
- Provide distance tutoring via tablet, computer, or mobile device.
- Distribute pre-recorded audio for radio stations in remote communities—The Radio Book Club—and video content for Facebook-based interactions and online storytime sessions.
Frontier College will be able to do all of this, and we’ll be able to do it now —
when so many people are already waiting.
